Blog – Being the very best version of yourself
So many of us wander the world confused and lost, trying desperately to come to some reasoning as to why we are here. We get drunk, get high, get lost and wasted on alcohol and drugs because we can find no purpose to justify our existence, not realizing that our being, our lives, are the reason, the purpose, given that we accept ownership of our lives and live our lives to the fullest extent possible. If you are a janitor, be the best janitor you possibly can, if you are a cook, be the best cook you possibly can, if you are a singer, be the best singer you possibly can. Own your life. Take pride in your actions, whether they seem humble or exceptional. Take pride in everything you touch, in everything you do, because it reflects the very best of you. Remembering that the smallest action may be the foundation for the greatest reward, the reward of knowing that your actions are the best representation of yourself. Remember though to perform with pride, but temper pride with humility. Do not feel that because you can do a task well that you deserve special attention and consideration for your performance. The only reward that should be of consequence to you is the pride you feel in knowing that you have done a task well. If you are rewarded more by others for their appreciation of your ability or performance, do not let it go to your head, do not let it swell your head to believing that you should only perform thusly if you are rewarded extravagantly. To do so will warp your views of your performance and your performance will suffer. The only reward you should seek and embrace is your own satisfaction at a job well done.
